CEIAG Media Studies Career Research

2 Resources
A PowerPoint, which can be used as a group discussion, or printed out as a booklet to follow with an accompanying worksheet. Students choose a sector of the media, research a career within that sector, then state what skills and qualties are needed for that career and how they have been working on these within the Media Studies or other sessions. Great for CEIAG (Careers Education Information Advice & Guidance) sessions.

CEIAG Media Studies Career Job Skills Research

I use this resource for CEIAG (Careers Education Information Advice & Guidance) sessions for Media Studies sessions. (It could be adapted to suit your subject area). It recaps the 5 different media sectors and the students can then choose a media sector to research a career they may be interested in, to discover what skills, qualities and qualifications are needed. Suitable for Entry Level 3+ students. I use this PowerPoint with the accompanying worksheet. The slides also demonstrates how what the students have been doing/learning in sessions is relevant to a potential career in media.

Art CEIAG Careers in Art and Design Worksheet

I use this 2 page resource for students completing Art courses. After researching potential Art and Design careers, students then create a piece of artwork based on that career. Students then complete the worksheet at the end, stating what career they researched, what artwork they created (with photographic examples), if they found the career interesting and what others they would like to explore. I use this resource at the end of the Art course as a CEIAG (Careers, Education, Information Advice & Guidance) session.
